2018-2019 Reading Series at Community Bookstore

Vanessa Grigoriadis is a contributor to The New York Times Magazine and Vanity Fair. She won a National Magazine Award for her long-form piece on Karl Lagerfeld and was a finalist for “Gawker and the Rage of the Creative Underclass.” HMH recently published her first book, Blurred Lines: Rethinking Sex, Power, and Consent on Campus.
Jonathan Durbin’s fiction has appeared in Tin House, One Story, New England Review, Electric Literature’s Recommended Reading, Crazyhorse and Catapult, among others. His nonfiction has been published in the Village Voice, Travel + Leisure, Interview, Paper and elsewhere. He has been awarded residencies at The Ragdale Foundation and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, and is currently at work on a novel and collection of short stories.
Amy Sohn is a native Brooklynite. She is the author of the novels Prospect Park West, Motherland, My Old Man, Run Catch Kiss, and The Actress, as well as four works of non-fiction. Her books have been translated into ten languages. She began her journalism career in the late ’90s with her popular and controversial “Female Trouble” column in the alternative New York Press, and has also written columns for the New York Post, New York, and Grazia (UK). Her articles have appeared The Nation, Playboy, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure, Men’s Journal, Elle, The New York Times, and JSTOR Daily. She has written pilots for such networks as ABC, FOX, Lifetime, and HBO. She has been a resident at Writers Omi/Ledig House. She is currently at work on a book about 19th-century women’s-rights activists for Farrar, Straus & Giroux.
