2018-2019 Reading Series at Community Bookstore
March 15 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Join us at Community Bookstore (143 7th Avenue, Park Slope) to hear our writer members read their work. We have three amazing readers, Priya Jain, Henry Stewart, and Molly Tolsky.
Priya Jain writes at the place where history, memory, and identity meet. Her journalism has appeared in the New York Times Book Review, O: The Oprah Magazine, Slate, Salon, Bust, and many other publications. She received the inaugural Joseph Kelly Prize from the Southampton Writer’s Conference and is a fellow of the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. She is currently at work on her first book, a narrative nonfiction history of her great-grandfathers’ roles in the Indian Independence movement.
Henry Stewart is the deputy editor of Opera Newsmagazine and the former culture editor of The L Magazine. He has read at Franklin Park and lectured at Greenlight and the Brooklyn Public Library. His writing has appeared on Gothamist, Lit Hub and Electric Literature. Since 2013, he has hosted the Bay Ridge Poets Society open-mic. He lives with his wife in Bay Ridge, where he has always lived. True Crime Bay Ridge is his first book—but not his last!
Molly Tolsky is a writer and editor originally from Chicago, currently based in Brooklyn. She is the founder and editor of Alma (www.heyalma.com) and senior editor of No Tokens.
